Voluma, Volbella, Volift, What are they?!

With cosmetic treatments becoming more and more socially acceptable and popular in 2018 you may have become slightly more interested in the facial Dermal Fillers scene, and you may have noticed there are quite a few different fillers have emerged in recent years (so, SO, many – where do you start?!) but with Juvéderm leading the way!

If you’re unsure about Juvéderm Dermal Filler options,  don’t worry – you’re not alone. Even for a regular injectable client, it can be difficult to see what’s different about each one. It also doesn’t make it any easier that Juvéderm has given their products very similar sounding names… typical.

But if you want to learn a little more about the Juvéderm products, then please keep reading and I will try my very best!

Find out more about Juvederm here: http://www.juvederm.co.uk/

First things first, All Juvéderm Dermal Fillers are made from Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is actually a naturally occurring sugar in the skin that keeps us plump, hydrated and youthful YAY!

Also, something to note is that Voluma, Volbella and Volift are all products made of Vycross technology – This is where higher and lower molecular weights are cross-linked together and make them more unique than your classic Dermal Fillers. Vycross Dermal Fillers are longer-lasting, smoother to inject, biodegradable, mould to your face (no non-moving duck lips) and reversible compared to original Hylacross Dermal Fillers.

•Juvederm Voluma: Contains the thickest and strongest gel which is ideal for deep injections or improving mid-face volume e.g Cheeks, Chins and Jawlines. This is the most cohesive and elastic of the Vycross range.

•Juvederm Volbella: Contains the thinnest, most spreadable gel and is the least cohesive and least elastic out of the Vycross range making it preferable for the tear trough (under eyes) and crows feet treatment because it’s easy to get it into the areas it’s needed with smooth results.

•Juvederm Volift: combines a ‘happy medium’ shall we say, of durability and spreadability to treat nasolabial (nose to mouth) folds while allowing for natural facial expressions and movements. It’s also great for lips adding fantastic definition/sharpness. 👄

So what’s best for you?

As an Aesthetician, making sure a clinic has a range of specialised Dermal Fillers allows them to tailor each client’s treatment and concerns and to give a very natural result – It’s all about looking healthy and well not overdone. However, as a client, I believe knowing the small differences between Dermal Fillers isn’t anywhere nearly as important as knowing what to look for in an Injector: Medical training/certificates, reviews, in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy and experience using all of the different filler products to name a few! Always be sure to book in for a consultation before any treatment to answer any questions you may have and to leave the room feeling confident, happy and a good relationship with the injector!

*Please, Please, PLEASE make sure any Juvéderm injectable treatments are always performed by Nurses/Doctors or any trusted medical professionals. There are too many horror stories from ‘cowboy’ injectors for my liking and it’s not worth to risk your face your an appealing price tag.

Remember – Good fillers aren’t cheap and cheap fillers aren’t good!
